Liposuction reshapes the body and improves its proportions through the removal of excess fat. In a liposuction procedure, Dr. Newall makes small, inconspicuous incisions in the skin. After infusing a sterile liquid tumesced solution to reduce bleeding, bruising, and pain, he inserts a thin, hollow tube called a cannula. This allows him to suction out  the fat in a manner that achieves the desired shaping goals. The length of the procedure can last anywhere from 1 to 4 hours, depending on the amount of fat that is removed and the number of sites that are recontoured.

 

  

 

After your liposuction procedure, you will be fitted with a compression garment that is worn for approximately 4 weeks to help reduce swelling and compress the skin to its new contours. Most individuals find they are able to return to work after 4-7 days of recovery and exercise in 3 weeks.
